 Generator Sizing
When you order your generator online, Generator Experts is not responsible for proper sizing of your generator to electrical loads; we provide a recommendation of the kilowatt rating of a generator based on information provided by you. We cannot guarantee that the generator will handle final electrical loads. We strongly recommend that you have a local Guardian dealer perform an on-site survey to verify your standby power needs.

 Payment

  • Payment Methods
    We accept Discover, MasterCard, and Visa credit cards payable in U.S. funds. Credit cards are charged at the time of the order. Personal checks are also accepted. Some orders are may be placed using Purchase Orders with approved credit.

  • Sales Tax
    We are not required to collect sales or use tax on deliveries within the U.S., except for business locations.
    For New York State customers, all applicable taxes will be added to your order. If you are a reseller in NY you must provide the correct forms before the state tax is removed from your order. Top
 Cancellation
If you choose to cancel your order, you must notify us no later than the next business day after placing your order. We will accept the cancellation only if the order has not been shipped. We must confirm your intent to cancel via email, voicemail or in writing. A 5% processing fee will be deducted from your credit card at the time of refund, whether the generator has shipped or not.  Installation
We're a Guardian "Elite" dealer, and we recommend your installation be informed by an authorized Guardian dealer. Local building codes vary for installation procedures.
Initial startup of your new generator is a critical time...voltage, frequency and the gas demand regulator need to be adjusted for maximum performance and longevity.

The homeowner is required to provide proper fuel pressure to the generator. Generator Experts is not liable for any costs assocaited with providing elevated natural or liquid propane gas pressures if required. Top

 Delivery
Generator Experts provides generator installations in the Hudson Valley, NY and Pike County, PA. If you order your generator with installation, we will bring the generator with us at that scheduled time. You do not have to pick it up or unload it, and there is no shipping charge. If you are not in our installation area, your generator will be delivered. Top

  • Free Delivery
    Free delivery (generators only) is based on destinations within the continental U.S. that are accessible by small or standard freight truck only. In areas not accessible by truck, you will be required to pick your shipment up at the nearest freight terminal. There are no extra charges for residential delivery, lift gate service, or delivery notification, but you must note any potential delivery difficulties when you place your order (such as steep driveway where the unit cannot be pushed up or a stone driveway). This will insure successfull delivered on the first attempt.

    • Residential and lift gate services are not available on the 45 kW and larger liquid-cooled units. Due to size and weight constraints, these models must be delivered to a commercial location with a loading dock, heavy-duty forklift, or other means of offloading. Top

  • Delivery Times
    Air-cooled standby generators ship direct from the Guardian/Generac factory in Wisconsin as fast as possible after full credit card payment approval from Electronic Merchant Systems (EMS) and depending on factory backlog. Liquid-cooled generators ship from the factory within 15 business days if the unit is in stock; some take 4-6 weeks. Contact Generator Experts for shipment schedules. Top

  • Substitutions
    Depending on generator availability, we have the right to ship a Generac product in lieu of a specific Guardian model (Generac is the parent company of Guardian). This is done to quicken delivery time. Top

  • Lift Gate
    Lift gate service is available at no charge so that heavy shipments can be brought to ground level. Please note that the carrier's only responsibility is to put the shipment on the lift gate and lower it to the ground. Although most drivers carry a pallet jack and will usually help when they can, they are not required to offload the unit from the lift gate or place your generator. Generator Experts can help you locate a Guardian authorized dealer in your location once the generator is delivered. If you decided to unload the generator yourself you will need a pallet jack, refrigerator dolly, or other means of moving the generator when it's delivered. Be very careful when handling the unit.

  • Residential Delivery
    Residential service is available at no charge. For most residential deliveries, it is necessary to use a smaller truck, but it is still a freight truck. If your residence is in a remote location or not accessible by freight truck, you may be required to pick up you shipment at the nearest freight terminal. Top

    • Residential and lift gate services are not available on the 45 kW and larger liquid-cooled units. Due to size and weight constraints, these models must be delivered to a commercial location with a loading dock, heavy-duty forklift, or other means of offloading. Top
 Damaged Freight
Do not sign for delivery until you inspect the packaging and if possible, open the package and inspect the product inside. If you notice signs of damage, note them in detail on the delivery ticket. We recommend that you refuse delivery and contact us immediately. When you refuse delivery, we can get you a replacement. Once you sign and accept delivery you take responsibility for any claims that may need to be placed with the freight carrier and we cannot guarantee replacement.  Refused Delivery
Customer will be charged all shipping charges plus a 20% restocking fee to cover the cost to receive and inspect returned items for all refused deliveries (except for damaged merchandise that will be replaced without cost to you). Cancelling the order because of damage will fall under the provisions set forth under Returns and Refunds below. Top

 Returns and Refunds
In an attempt to avoid returns, we ask that you research and be particularly sure of the generator you are looking at before placing your order.

  • Generators may be returned in their original packaging, in new, unused condition withing 30 days from delivery.
    • Include all parts, instructions and accessories.
    • Include a copy of the original invoice. 
    • There is a 20% re-stocking fee.
    • Generators that have been installed, wired, or have had fuel through them are not considered to be in new condition.
  • Call us before making any returns toll free at 877.986.1010.
  • All items must be shipped to us freight prepaid and insured.
  • Print the return authorization number on the box.
  • After we inspect the returned item, a refund, less original shipping cost and the re-stocking fee, will be issued by check. Allow 3-4 weeks for refund. Top
 Order Errors Made by Generator Experts
Notify us immediately of the error and we'll make arrangements for pickup as well as shipment of the correct item. Top

 Defective Merchandise
If you think you have equipment this is not working properly, contact your local Guardian/ Generac dealer or the manufacturer directly. Most view this as a warranty claim and will usually either repair or replace the merchandise, depending on their policy. Top

 Price Changes
We reserve the right to change the pricing at any time on any product without notice. If you place an order on the same day that a  price is reduced on the product you ordered, you can contact us to get that price. We will credit your credit card the difference.

We also reserve the right to refuse the sale of a product at the listed price when a price change occurs. Top

 Technical Assistance
Generator Experts is an authorized Guardian "Elite"  dealte. We can provide advice on basic issues you may have with your new Guardian generator. If you're not within our installation area, we can help you find a dealer in your area to arrange a service call (you will be responsible for the service call charge). Dealers are listed on Generac's web site. Top

 Secure Transactions
All online orders are processed using a secure server which encrypts all submitted information. Top

 Warranty and Warranty Service
All merchandise that we sell is warranted by the manufacturer, not Your Generator Expert. The warranty which is a standard 2-year warranty for standby applications (not prime power usage). Additional warranties may be available on liquid-cooled generator packages; these usually require that you have a maintenance agreement with your local servicing dealer.

Warranty service must always be performed by an authorized Guardian dealer, who must analyze the problem, on site, provide parts, and carry out all warranty repairs. We are unable to ship warranty parts to customers free of charge. We are also unable to make warranty determinations; this is the responsibility of Generac Power Systems, parent company of Guardian.
